The beauty of Sunday

I have always been a morning person, and Zac is surely becoming a morning person now too.  {whether he likes it or not}The best mornings are easily Sunday mornings. These mornings allow for simple pleasures like waking up at our own pace while cuddling before getting out of bed. Morning breakfast consisting of more than just a quick banana or hurried bowl of cereal. Even the coffee seems to smell and taste better and the birds chirp louder and even more beautifully on Sunday mornings.
The sweet morning isn't the only thing we love about Sundays in our home. There is time to do the things we enjoy. I find myself making crafts, cleaning the house {yes I enjoy it} and often I even find time to paint my nails or soak in the bath. Sunday is the perfect day for Zac to get a good work out in {yes he enjoys it} a quick round of golf, and as he would say, "All the best games are on Sundays."
Even Drayze enjoys his Sundays. He gets a lot more attention, swings a lot longer in his swing while listening to music, {he likes Tom Petty, The Beatles, and Deftones best} and he even gets a longer bath. He has the life!
The very best part about Sunday is being able to spend a whole uninterrupted day together as a family. This is something we have grown a whole new appreciation for after becoming a family. This is our day to lounge around in our "comfy clothes" watching movies and simply enjoying each others company.
If only Sunday wasn't followed by Monday!

Morning snuggles!

Lounging around!

Daddy's First Father's Day

Daddy's first Father's Day was quite a success I would have to say. We started the morning early, thanks to our adorable alarm clock who doesn't have a snooze button. As Zacary and Drayze laid in bed ever so sweetly, I brewed our usual morning coffee and began to make a Father's Day breakfast of banana pancakes and eggs. I was excited to serve the husband his coffee in his new [daddy's first father's day] mug along with the adorable card Drayze and I made for him. Side note: baby hand/foot prints are far more difficult than it looks!
After breakfast, we took turns showering and getting ready for the day while the other looked after the little. A wonderful and leisurely morning, just the way they should be.
We had a big day of family time planned for the day. First we went to Randy's [Zac's dad] house for a delicious meal of chicken cordon bleu, chilled broccoli salad, bacon wraps, and desert. Talk about a full belly!! Next, we took the baby to grandma Michelle's house while we spent some alone time on the golf course. This was the first time we had been together just us since Drayze has been born. We had a lot more to catch up on than we realized. Last stop of the busy day was back at Michelle's for another BBQ! We definitely didn't go hungry this wonderful day. By this point, however, the baby was completely done with all the commotion and very much ready to be home. What baby wants, baby gets.
Finally, we had made it home. We all dressed in our comfy clothes the minute we got home and relaxed on the couch while watching movies. Before we knew it we were all fast asleep together snuggling on the couch. It is those {simple moments} I live for. <3

It's love!

Sister Warner

I am so incredibly proud of my cousin {Jaidy} who recently made the courageous decision to serve a LDS mission. I haven't ever personally known anyone who has served a mission before Jaidy, so hearing about her mission and how it all works is a new adventure for me as well.
I have to admit, I have always kind of had a image painted in my head of missionaries and the "type" of people they are. I am now embarrassed at that and realize how judgemental of me to always assume missionaries were always judging. For those of you who know Jaidy you know how sweet and outgoing girl she is and completely humble. Because of those qualities, I know she will do an amazing job.
Today, I received the first e-mail from Sister Warner, {that is fun to say} this was easily the highlight of my day. The positive attitude she has toward her mission has already had a huge impact on me. She is serving in Guam, learning the language Chuukese, {never heard of it} and she couldn't be any more excited about it! She is settling in to her small apartment consisting of only one bedroom, a small bathroom, and a kitchen. Her, along with her two companions, make their beds of only a mattress on the floor and bathe in cold showers due to no warm running water. They fetch their drinking water from giant jugs because the water there is not safe to drink. As Jaidy explains all of this in her e-mail it put a giant smile on my face as she said "it's so awesome!" directly after reading about circumstances many {including myself} would consider unfortunate.
After only one e-mail from this amazing lady she has already made a positive impact on me, inspiring me to be a better person. This is only the beginning. I am so excited to for her and all the incredible things she is about to do!!

Such a tiny island!

Just a google image to give us an idea until she sends some pictures.

...and then there were three

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, until you are pregnant for what feels like eternity!
As my 41 week appointment rolled around, {one I never imagined I would see} and I felt as though you could roll me into the doctor's office; we knew it was finally go time! We knew Dr. Anderson was going to discuss options of getting this baby OUT! Because baby was estimated to be a whopping 9lbs 6oz, and my pelvic bones are small "built like a man" as the doc would say. I was given two options. One, trying for vaginal delivery for a lovely 18 hours, which would most likely turn into c-section, OR simply schedule a c-section for the next morning. What would you choose?
7:30AM the following morning, June 5th, 2013, we showed up at labor and delivery just like instructed. Here they set us up in a room and started an IV. Zacary was far more nervous than I. He was running a million miles an hour around the ENTIRE hospital! It was actually quite entertaining, and I even got pretty flowers out of it!
The c-section was scheduled for 9:30. However, we were bumped back a couple hours due to emergency deliveries....more waiting. This time I didn't mind the wait as I found myself becoming more and more nervous.
Around 10:15 I got my epidural. OUCH! As my legs started to enter their own world, my mind started running faster than Zac was. By this point, I honestly don't think I have ever been so incredibly nervous in my entire life. The next hour passed as quick as a minute. Before I knew it, my doctor and my husband {dressed like a doctor} were wheeling me into a scary looking freezing cold room. I had been so desperate to get this baby out of me the past month, but suddenly I was so nervous that if I could have moved my legs I would have ran right out of that room and stayed pregnant forever!
They continued to set everything up. Just like you have seen on TV. No longer than 20 minutes later I hear Dr. Anderson say "You're not ten pounds baby Drayze, but you have lots of hair!" following that, I heard the most amazing sound that completely took my breath away... The sound of my sweet baby boy crying for the very first time!
There is honestly nothing that compares to that special moment {June 5th, 2013 11:35 AM} baby Drayze was born. Our hearts overflowing with love and happiness. A beautiful and healthy 8lb 5oz, 19.5" tiny human completely stole our hearts in just a brief moment. There are no words that can describe that feeling. That love we have for him grows more and more each and every day, and incredibly the love Zacary and I share has completely blossomed in a whole new way. We couldn't be happier!

Drayze Zacary Diamond only a few minutes old. Before momma even got to hold him.

Our very first family picture and my first time holding my baby.

Such a happy baby.
And this is what happens 10 days later. (Don't mind the socks on his hands, his gloves were in the wash)
