Seems We Have Some Catching Up To Do

Hey, would you look at that?! The Blog is still here, I still remember how to sign in, and there are even old drafts waiting for their finishing touches! Don't take it personally, I have shut everyone out the last little while, but I am working on a come back! In the meantime, lets rewind and fill you in on the happenings since I've been in hibernation

Starting with the littles..

So Jax turned one, that is where we left off. He has since become an even smarter, funnier, handsome stubborn little  hunk of burning love!  He doesn't worry too much about speaking, he has an older brother for that, but he certainly knows how to get whatever he wants. One quick squawk of that God-awful, nails on a chalkboard, high pitch scream and  I give in! Just as he intends. The kid can put away some food, and would spend his entire days riding his tricycle if only his dad wouldn't have ran it over with his work truck. He has mastered taking off his diaper and is one hell of an escape artist. Despite {still} being a Momma's boy, Drayze is his absolute best friend. I guess I am okay with that, mostly because it gives me a chance to sleep {with one eye open} a minute longer in the mornings while they gang up and plot how they are going to run me ragged all day. This is going to be a problem when Drayze starts preschool.

Can you believe that Drayze is starting preschool on Monday!! Seriously, where was I when my baby all of a sudden become old enough for Preschool? I love how excited he is and how eager he is to learn and make new friends. We will see if he still has the same enthusiasm when he has to wake up, get ready, and be out the door by 8:00 AM. Lord grant me the serenity to have it together enough to get my child dressed, fed, and off to Preschool at the requested time, the courage to not loose my shit when he claims he can not dress himself or insists on finding the exact Hotwheel he NEEDS to bring with him, and the wisdom to know the difference between "he is just a kid" and "he is acting s fool" when all we need to do is get out the door! I know my patience runs thin with the kid, but I am seriously loving this age! I wouldn't necessarily say I'd freeze him at the age of 4 if it was a possibility, that sounds exhausting, but I am definitely enjoying it for the time being. He is so witty and hilarious, I wish I could be like him. I really do need to write down the silly things he says that have me rolling and saying, "Where did you learn that?!" For example, during a wind storm just two days ago, he yelled to my mom and I, "Here comes a torMado, take shelter!!" I hadn't a clue he knew the phrase "take shelter," let alone what a tornado is. I'm not kidding when I say I admire Drayze and strive to be more like him. He is so loving and accepting of everyone. He makes friends everywhere we go and can't help but strike up a conversation with anyone around, regardless if they acknowledge him or not.
I wish I could remember every detail of my boys forever. Their characteristics, habits, quirky ways, and all the silly things they say and do each day. I know it's such a cliche, but it blows my mind how quickly life flies by the older the kiddos get. It goes so fast I feel like I miss it.  What a profound love I have for those two little hooligans. I couldn't be more proud of them and feel lucky to be their momma! Just avoid riding with us in the car or I'm sure you'll think I'm just filling you full of it. Sorry kids, I'll work on it {if you do}.

Then there's the misc. life updates.

Since my last blog post we did something that is going to come as a giant surprise to everyone, seeing as it is something we seriously never do. WE MOVED! Holy shit, right?! In all seriousness though, how many freakin' times can one family move?  I'm tired of trying to find out, but since we are counting, it has been SEVEN moves since Zac and I were just cute little "roomies" in Santaquin.  In our defense, this most recent move {although not opposed} was not under our control.  The "Main Street House" is owned by a "lovely" man, whom we nicknamed "Chimo" at our house.  He was "serving time" at the "Hilton" located at "The Point Of The Mountain."  Are you "following" me?  Welp, Chimo earned himself some "Good Time," two years to be exact, therefore leaving us to find new residence with 15 days notice!  I'm sure you can imagine how well I took that news. The landlord at the time did kindly offer to let us continue to live in the home while Chimo took residence in the creeptastic apartment type thingy in the basement.  I mean, to each their own, and feel free to call me a judgmental assbag, but I just feel like I probably shouldn't let my kids share a backyard with a just released inmate with the nickname Chimo?  I don't think that is too crazy to think?
With such short notice, very little funds, not much wiggle room in the price range, not to mention we're talking about Nephi here, finding a new home to rent was a next to impossible task.  Luckily, Grandma Barb was willing to let us live in the old house of Grandpa Earl's next door to her.  Sure, this sounds like, "Duh, why was finding a place to live even an issue if this house of Grandma's has been an option this entire time?"  Well, because, it needed an insane amount of work done before it was even livable.  To try putting it in perspective,  I told Zacary I would rather live in the playhouse at his dad's until we found somewhere to rent.  In my opinion, the home needed to be bulldozed over or occupied immediately.  Not just occupied, but by someone willing to commit to putting in the work.  And here we are.  It's a cute little house, don't get me wrong.  It's well known I have always preferred older homes, and my dream home is a "fixer upper."  I just don't think even Chip and Joanna Gains would know where to start with this place.
Okay, maybe {certainly} I am being a little {off the charts} dramatic, it really isn't THAT bad.  We have made a lot of progress, and it definitely has potential, I have just hit a brick wall with the place.  I've ran out of storage room and still have SO many important things {crap} that need to find a place.  Our clothes are out of control, which is the worst part.  I am currently trying to fit all 4 of our clothes that need to be hung in one tiny 3X3 closet.  That is not even being dramatic, that's accurate.  I have an idea in mind though.  I need to embrace this huge project, and be grateful my family has a place to call home.  I'll for sure blog out the process, progress and before/after in a separate post, one of these days! Perhaps that will hold me accountable for getting things done.
So there ya have it, a quick update on the very basic happenings in our simple little life as of late.  I have so many other things I need to document, things I'd like to remember forever.  I just don't have the time to do so right tonight.  Grams is having a bday BBQ for herself in an hour, and Lord knows I don't skip a meal.  Let this be a lesson to not go so long between posts, catching up is going to take a while, and there's no way I'm going to be able to cover everything.  Sometimes we fall off the wagon and forget where we were headed in the first place.  It happens to the best of us.  My motto is, "It's alright if we get knocked down as long as we pick ourselves back up and keep going."  Dusting off the 'ol knees and the keyboard and on we go.

CARRY ON, CARRY ON.
