Witches Day Out

October has always been both mine and Zac's favorite month for various reasons. The leaves begin to change, the air becomes crisp and cool, people start getting festive. {Zac says the best sports are in season, and there is the deer hunt} Then, best of all, there is Halloween. This year, having Drayze, we have had so much more to look forward to this October. Buying him cute autumn clothes, tiny little pumpkins, and deciding what he should be for his first Halloween has kept us excited and busy, but mostly full of fun.
This weekend Zacary took off with his "ol man" to do some deer hunting, as most husbands do. {Widowers weekend they call it} Contemplating what Drayze and I would spend our time doing while daddy was gone, my mom and I finally decided Gardener's Village it was. Gardeners Village is especially fun during October. They have all sorts of witches through out the place, tiny boutiques full of the cutest things, and people gathered everywhere.  This idea did not disappoint.
Early afternoon Saturday we loaded two vehicles {Mom, Deveny, Drayze, Ryan, Kyran, Grandma Barb, and me} and headed straight to the festivities. This was so much fun! Drayze got a Halloween monster book. Kyran got to ride a pony. And, to no one's surprise, Grandma Barb had more than enough fun for the rest of us.
After a long afternoon {and tired feet} at "the witch fest" it was time for a good sit down lunch. Olive Garden. My favorite! Drayze got to sit in a high chair for the first time like a big boy. :) Over lunch we realized the only thing Gardener's Village didn't have to offer was pumpkins! This was a must. We decided we would let the kids nap on the car ride and stop at the Red Barn in Santaquin on the way home. This was the best idea! At the Barn we went on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Here we slid down an 18 foot slide. Ky went down it about 18 million times. We raced {pedal} tractors, got lost in a maze, took a million pictures, and picked out our pumpkins.
What an incredible day. We all had so much fun! It was definitely a day worth cherishing.
As the day comes to a close, Drayze is bathed, fed and tucked into bed. I sit here in my quiet house replaying the best moments of the day in my head, thinking about how blessed we are to have such an amazing family and to be fortunate enough to make such wonderful memories.
I can't wait for Zacary to come home so we can share with him how much fun we have had today, and hear about how much fun he has had this weekend too. October this year is still fairly young with many more memories to be made. The best time of year is here!

Best buddies!

...deveny got hit on by 19 year old boys at the witch fest. Barb gave them her number so she could get a good deal. Not ok!
Yeah he didn't want his picture taken.
Sweetest.

The man of my life

With zacary's birthday and our anniversary coming up, my mind has been thinking a lot about how much I love, appreciate, and admire my amazing husband. Through the last three years I have been lucky enough to be loved when I wasn't being lovable, listened to when all I said was nonsense, comforted when I didn't have a reason to cry, and understood when I lost my mind. I am a very imperfect person who found a perfect {for me} husband.
I can admit, when I met Zacary I only agreed to go on a date with him because I found him incredibly attractive. I figured we would go on one, maybe two, dates and that would be it. After dinner, ride in the jeep, and a trip to Vegas I soon realized I was definitely in to him. I had met the right person at what I thought was the wrong time. {I was really enjoying being single.} One thing lead to another and before I knew it that no longer mattered. I had fallen completely head over heels for the man of my dreams.
Zacary has taught me so many things through our life together. He has taught me simple things such as how to tie fish hooks, play cards, rules of football and the list goes on. More importantly he has taught me not to stress the little things and patience. This I thank him for. He always brings me back to earth when I loose it over things that can't be changed. Amazing.
Since being married I can honestly say our love for each other has only grown. I've heard over and over, "the first year if marriage is the hardest." I do not agree with this statement whatsoever. Our first year of marriage has definitely come with struggles, as does each year of life. However, this first year has been the year of my life. I wholeheartedly believe it is our mellow approach to life, and the lessons we have each learned from our past experiences is making us so compatible.
Of all the admirable traits my husband posses, the thing that puts him over the top is the love he has for our son. He is an amazing daddy who our baby {at 4 months} is already crazy over. His patience, caring ways, and sense of humor with Drayze makes me fall in love with him over and over again. There is nothing that can warm my heart more than watching my two boys together.
I really feel I am the most blessed girl alive. I don't know what I did right to have such an amazing husband, a soul mate, a forever friend. I love you with my whole heart Zacary James Diamond.
