How fortunate we are to say we're EXPECTING!

We are expecting ANOTHER BABY! Can you believe it?! We only plan on having two children, so by the time Zacary is 30 and I'm 25 our family will be complete and we will be left with only raising our children and making the best life for them we can.  We are very excited about this adventure that is to come. Baby Diamond is due to arrive February 2nd, 2016.  This pregnancy has gone very smooth so far. Very little morning sickness with extra fatigue, but what a small price to pay for such a large blessing.  We tried for about six months before we became pregnant the second time around. We feel incredibly fortunate that we were able to get pregnant without complications. After witnessing the pain and struggle my brother and sister in law have gone through while battling infertility has really put in to perspective how truly lucky we are to be able to conceive.  I know, without a doubt, their day is coming, but I have to admit it made my decision of having another baby a difficult one. I in no way had thought they would be upset or unhappy for us for expanding our family. To me, I just felt as if maybe I would be making their situation even more unfair, even harder, in a way, putting salt in the wound.  I know they will think I'm just crazy for feeling that way, but it's because I love them so incredibly much. I would hate to make their pain worse in anyway.  Telling them we were expecting was probably the most overwhelming thing I've ever had to tell a person.  I put it off for weeks and weeks. I wrote numerous letters, called and hung up several times, worked up the courage to tell them in person just to find the words could not escape my mouth.  When I finally told them, they took the news exceptionally well. A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders, but at the same time I still ached for them.  How unfair they have to deal with such an unfortunate disease while we so easily conceive children.  Why is it they have worked so hard for every single thing in their life, they are much more ahead in life than I feel like we are, but they are faced with this struggle?  It's so unfair.  However, I absolutely know with my entire heart they will get the chance to raise children here on Earth. I pray constantly they feel the sweet spirits of their angel babies near. I hope they keep a strong faith that their chance to expand their family is coming. I can only hope they know how amazing of parents they already are, and how much I admire them as parents  This is why Zac and I chose them as the God-parents to our children.  They are the two people in our lives we trust to raise our children if need be.  They have such a strong relationship and incredible will to keep going no matter what life throws at them.  They're definitely one of a kind.  They will never realize how much I look up to them.
I have learned so much from their infertility journey. One of the things I'm very most grateful for is not taking for granted how lucky we are to be able to conceive children.  I will never complain about the small uncomfortable times pregnancy tends to bring, the price of having a child, the weight gain or stretch marks, or any of the other small stresses preparing for a child brings because I know there are so many people in the world who would {and do} give so much more for the opportunity to have a child.  We are very fortunate, and I SO look forward to the day my brother and sister in law are able to share the news with us that I was so nervous to share with them.  What an extremely happy and emotional day that will be.

Fish Lake 2015

In March we took a weekend trip to St. George. We loved the way we felt while escaping reality, we did things we didn't typically do, and spent time bonding even more as a family. It was because of those things I decided to set a goal for our family to consistently have a getaway of some sort on our agenda. I felt like it would be good for us to constantly have something to look forward to as well as explore new places. The same day I set this goal for us, I booked a 4 day, 3 night stay at Fish Lake Resort. Although we had been to Fish Lake before, I thought it would be a fun way to kick off our summer. Plus, I believe no matter how many times you visit a place there is always something new to be discovered. The trip did not disappoint. We had spent the last four months looking forward to this particular weekend. The weeks leading up to the day we would finally take off I did so much planning and preparing. Camping with a child requires a lot of extra work, and of I wanted to make sure we would have the very best time possible, of course. Wednesday, the day before we left, Drayze and I spent the entire day packing and preparing. We had three different people ask us if we were moving again. It really does take that much stuff for a weekend of camping. Thursday July 23rd finally came and it was time to go!
About 2 hours through different small towns in Utah and numerous winding roads we made our way to our destination. The excitement Drayze expressed the moment he realized we would be spending the next few days completely outside in the wilderness was priceless. He didn't waist any time getting dirty as he continuously tried to catch the wild squirrels and bunnies all while Zac and I unloaded our things and set up camp. We arrived about three hours before Jana and her family did, so we spent that time simply being together.  We knew we were going to be up for quite the weekend as the adults would be outnumbered by the children, 4 against 7 to be exact. We spend those few hours enjoying the small amount of time it would be just us three. We took a walk down by the lake, put our poles in the water for a minute, checked out the Fish Lake Lodge Store, took a peak in the Marina and enjoyed simple conversation among each other.

By the time the Boyd's finally arrived we had only enough time to help them set up camp before it became dark. When the sun went down we prepared dinner and sat around the campfire planning the next couple of days while roasting marshmallows.

At Fish Lake they have a Marina that offers boat rentals. We had planned on renting a pontoon boat since the day we booked the trip, but unfortunately we didn't get to it fast enough when we made our reservation. We decided to check with the Marina just in case someone had canceled and to our surprise and rare luck, they do save one pontoon boat for "first come first serve."  As it was a busy weekend there being a holiday and all Zac and Jesse had decided to hit the marina very first thing the following morning. Unfortunately 5:30am just wasn't early enough, someone else had beat them to the reservation. What a bummer at the time, but in the end we still had a wonderful day. The first half of that Friday was spent fishing from the shore, letting the kids splash in the water, paddle boarding and soaking up the sun. Zac, Drayze and I took a quiet drive through the canyon, the scenery was breathtaking. As we were talking about how beautiful it was out there, Drayze's stomach disagreed. He became slightly car sick and puked all over himself and car seat.  Not quite what we had in mind, but thankfully after a quick nap he was good as new.  The second half of the day Zacary and I had decided to go ahead and rent a small tin fishing boat. What a good decision. Although the fishing still wasn't very good, we enjoyed being out on the water and spending quite time together on the lake.

Saturday morning we were bound and determine to snag the pontoon boat for the day. Jesse and I woke up around 4am to ensure we would be the first there. Sure enough our plan worked, and we were able to call the boat ours for the day. It was a lot of fun being able to go anywhere on the lake we desired, but I do have to admit, 11 people fishing on a boat at one time is FAR too many. It's fair to say the chaos and countless hours spent in the sun that day was exhausting, but one of the most memorable things we will have experienced this summer.  The fishing wasn't the best, but the time spent together was what it was all about.  Ironically a couple of our friends, Cameron Painter, his lady Christina and their little boy, Mac were camping just a couple miles down from where we were for a family reunion. They were able to come visit during the evening around the fire which was so nice.

Sunday morning we were all exhausted and drained from the sun, so we basically just packed up our things and headed for home. The weekend was definitely one we will always remember. It was an adventure I'm glad we took on. We made memories that will last a life time and because even closer as a family.  I learned there is no way I could be a mother of that many children, and I definitely like the luxuries of being home. More than that I learned Zac is indeed the one person I am meant to spend forever with, and we aren't doing too bad of a job raising our child. Funny how one little camping trip can teach you such things.

Now on to the next adventure.....

Home Sweet Home

Well, just shy of one year in the adorable tiny white house we packed up and moved all the way across the street. Why did we make such the long haul? Because the {new to us} little green house has just enough space, a yard all our own, a little more freedom {as far as painting/updating} and more privacy, for significantly less rent! The ideal little home for us at this point in our lives. I have to admit, Tiny White had a few more updated and charming features, but with a little effort we are making our new home feel just as charismatic. Which is actually fun for me as I enjoy doing DIY home improvements. Have a little peak in to our new little {but not quite AS little} humble abode, and a couple of the improvements we have made so far.

Our little room {so far}. I would like to paint it in the very near future, I just need to decide if I want one colored wall of if I'd like to do a soft neutral color on all the walls.

Our cute little kitchen is one of my favorite rooms in the house. I added the vinyl stickers for a "back splash" which added so, so much character to the space. Our yellow table brightens the room and makes it feel happy. I absolutely LOVE my "old lady" hanging fruit basket {scored at the thrift shop for $2} as well.

I love the built in character you often find in older homes.

I am in love with my new bread/vegetable box I bought from a boutique during the Stampede

Another favorite room is definitely Drayze's room. Probably because I've had the chance to repaint it. I love the way the vinyl turned out on the wall and adore the shade of gray for a little boy room. I'm still in the process of "redecorating." His nursery was done in blue, green, and brown. I am slowly changing it to black, gray, white and red. Something a little less "baby" that he can grow with.

We will soon upgrade to a big boy bed!

His room is quite small, but I feel like we have made the space work.

Our bathroom being as small as it is makes things a little difficult sometimes, but it's charming in its own little way. Adding the above the toilet storage was an excellent idea. It makes the bathroom much more functional.

Downstairs is half finished, but the extra space is absolutely amazing. This is Drayze's little playroom. Behind the baby gate is the laundry room. We have spent quite a lot of time in these two rooms.

Every kid deserves a play room, even if it consists of cement walls.

Another room in the basement is half my craft room and half a workout room. I've ALWAYS wanted a craft room, so this little corner is a dream. Zacary even put it together for me, how sweet is he?!

And the last room in the basement is of course the "Man Cave." I have to admit it has turned out quite cool. I especially love it when Zac has friends over because they just play down there instead of messing up the rest of the house! ;)

Every man deserves a Man Cave, even if it consists of cement walls.

Home sweet home. We have very much enjoyed our new space. The more our home comes together the more I can't believe this is real life. Our home is not a mansion and some people may even think it's somewhat of a dive, but it's absolutely perfect for us. I am forever blessed we have a home to continue building this life, together as a family! <3

EDIT::

I can't believe I forgot to include pictures of our cute little living room. It is where we do most of our living after all!

Don't mind the Pepsi cups. ;)

Weird lighting here, but check out the charming little mail drop box on the wall by the table.

The start of my collage wall. I'm sure I will rearrange it a million times adding and taking away pieces. {nail hole city!}
