Things That Make Your Heart Sing

Day in and day out we go through the same exact motions of the daily routine. Each morning Zacary and I wake up around the same time, stumble around the house before we kiss each other, say I love you and head out the door. While taking Drayze to daycare I see the same cute old man, wearing the same orange beanie, in the same spot, going for a walk. I get the same coffee and listen to the same radio station during my drive to work. Even though this is a pretty good way to start the morning, doing the same thing over and over again becomes extremely boring. It's the moments I become bored and short tempered, I have to remind myself how much I would miss my day to day life if I didn't have it.
It really is the small moments that makes life worth living. Yes vacations, adventures, and new shoes are extra exciting, but what is truly important are those tiny moments that make you smile, laugh, and even make your heart flutter.
Just the other day, after we put Drayze to sleep, we laid on the couch to snuggle while watching a movie. Though the movie was lame, it was amazing to spend quiet time with the husband. There are so many small moments, just as this, each day that make my heart smile. Just to mention a few, the moments when:

  • I simply just look at Drayze and he flashes me that adorable toothless grin
  • It's time to change a diaper and Zacary has already done it without saying a word
  • The cute old people at work use their {old school} slang
  • I pick Drayze up from daycare and he sits in the back seat "talking" to me about his day the whole way home
  • Zacary sends me texts during the day reminding me the day is almost over
  • I can sit with a warm cup of coffee updating my blog.
{Simplicity.} It's the way we have vowed to live our life. For us, it works.

Drayze loves to give {opened mouth} kisses.

Big boy can ride in the shopping cart now.

Daddy and Drayze just Chiving On

One of those moments.

Just baking a cake!

HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY BABE!! {28}

Playin' playin'

"What the hell, mom?"

Just sitting up all by himself!

Zonked!

Another moment. Captured.
