2015 Summer Bucket List

Drayze is at such a fun age, and we live in a beautiful state in which has endless opportunities for adventure, Because of this, I found it only necessary to create a summer {or rather 2015} "Bucket List," personalized just for our little family. So far, we have been able to check a couple things off the list. As we did so, I quickly realized this list is far more special than the simple piece of paper it started out as. It is memories in the making, a time for us to bond as a family of only three. Drayze likely wont always be an only child, so while he is we are going to make the most of the quality one-on-one time we have with him. Here is a brief look into our list, in no particular order.
  • Hogle Zoo
  • BYU Bean Museum
  • Weekend Camping
  • Day full of random acts of kindness
  • Paint rocks
  • Boat ride
  • Amish Grocery Store
  • Museum of Natural Curiosity
  • Monster Truck Jam
  • Weekend trip to St. George
  • Fishing, fishing, fishing
  • Carnival
  • Ride 9 holes as daddy golfs
  • Discover a new swimming pool(s)
  • Kite flying
  • Spend an entire day exploring creatures/ nature
  • Raise a caterpillar into a butterfly
  • Fish Lake Weekend
  • Bees Baseball Game
  • Hike to a waterfall
  • Color Me Mine
I'm so excited for these memories in the making. Some are annual adventures, and others will be brand new experiences. Of course I have every intention of documenting our experiences as we check each item off the list.

So far....

The Museum of Natural Curiosity

We had heard this museum was a blast, but I was a little bit skeptical about it because I thought it was more for "big kids." I am so glad we finally decided to go, it was more fun than I had ever imagined. They have a few different sections of the museum which focus on certain "curiosities." In the Rain Forest you can explore through chambers and crawl inside a giant monkey head. They have a long rope bridge you can climb across and {unless you're a scared one year old} you can pretend to fly the airplane. The Water Works section teaches you the natural effects of the elements. It has a earthquake table, a tornado closet, and several water experiments.  They also have a Discovery Garden where you learn about nature and the simple machines. Finally, the Town of Kidopollis features several different careers and adult like chores. It has a secret passageway that leads to a bank vault, a magic shop, laundry mat, x-ray center, Lego/building room, and a train station. The museum exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to go again!

Watching the train go by

Water works

Pull the rope, ball goes up. Let go of the rope, ball falls down, and out shoots water from the opposite tube!

Such a big boy crossing the rope bridge all by himself!

You stop on the color square and it changes colors or moves!

Lego Room!

Magic Closet!

The City of Kidoppllis

Of course out of all the fun things this was little man's favorite!

Pure joy!

Can't leave without hitting up the photo booth!

Weekend trip to St. George

Zac was invited to play in a softball tournament in St. George the first weekend of March. We took full advantage of the opportunity to check our weekend trip to St. George off the list. I knew we would be spending most of our time at the ball field, so I didn't fill the agenda with too many extra activities. As it turns out, spending countless hours at the ball field was exceptionally nice given the weather. The sun was shinning, the temperature was 67, but felt more like 77. Drayze was happy to run free, and he even made a few new friends. It was so fun to watch him interact with the children without {much} mommy supervision. I made sure when we weren't at the ball field we were doing something fun. We went to the Children's Museum which was fun, but just coming from the Museum of Natural Curiosity we weren't terribly impressed. As Zac would say, "It's a poor man version of the other museum." Don't get me wrong though, it was still really fun and interesting. We also did a little bit of shopping, and went on a dinner date with Larry and a little lady he had met down there. It was a quick, simple trip. The weather made it super hard to come home!

On the road! As a parent you schedule road trips according to nap time!

First things first, SOFTBALL!

The first night was just a little bit cold!

Not the best picture, but it's the only one I got of "Uncle Bird" and Drizzy man.

Yep, just milking a cow!

Look at that proud uncle smile!

Mr. Mail Man

All boy!

Drayze consumed approximately 25 suckers over the weekend.

This melts me!

In his zone

SELFIE!

HAHAHAHA! His face kills me in this pic.

Mini Elton John! <3

The boys and their new shades!

Sitting at the big boy bar! LOL {we're good parents!}

...and we have to go home. :(

Stopped at a playground to stretch our legs on the drive home!

Next....

When we got home from St. George I immediately started planning our next little getaway. Over the weekend of Pioneer Day in July we will take our {now annual} trip to Fish Lake. We have booked our cabin rental and are waiting for friends to confirm they will be going with us. During this time we will also be able to check off the boat ride and fishing!

I'm sure some of the simple list items will just happen when they are meant to happen.
I'm really thrilled with our Bucket List because I believe it is good for a person's happiness to have something to look forward to! Stay tuned as we make memories...
